Nightstop can give an evening meal, bed and breakfast to young people who are homeless and have nowhere else to go. You do not have to have any money to use Nightstop - it is free.
WHERE IS NIGHTSTOP?
Nightstop is accommodation in people’s homes. The scheme has families and single people who will invite you to stay with them for a night – they are called ‘hosts’.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT NIGHTSTOP?
You can expect: friendly people, an evening meal, and a choice of how you spend the evening - you can watch TV, or be by yourself if you want to, or you can talk to the host - it is up to you. You can take a bath or shower if you want one and wash your clothes. If you need them you will be offered a tooth brush/soap etc. In the morning you will be offered breakfast, also transport can be arranged to take you back to the referral agency in the morning.
HOW LONG CAN I STAY?
You can stay one night with a host. You can get a ‘nightstop’ again if you need one, but you will have to get your ‘nightstop’ each day.
AND WHAT DO I DO IN THE MORNING ?
We can arrange to have you picked up and taken back to your referral agency, or it is up to you to go to the help that is available for you, but you must leave the hosts' home in the morning.
HOW CAN I GET ON NIGHTSTOP?
You can ask your social worker if you have one. Or you can go to your District Council Homeless Department, or Hucknall Interchange, any Connexions, e2E or Framework project. If you suddenly become homeless at a weekend we suggest you visit your local hostel.
If you are about to become homeless and you have nowhere to stay tonight, visit one of these agencies who may be able to help you.
